Base Salary
$209k - $286k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Design and implement large-scale, distributed, cloud-native systems with high reliability and performance requirements.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and shape system architecture and long-term technology direction.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and product leaders to deliver cloud-based solutions and define platform roadmaps and shared-services strategy.
- Mentor engineering community members and senior engineers while driving professional development.
- Lead architectural design reviews, establish coding standards and design patterns, and influence enterprise-wide technical standards.
- Implement observability and reliability practices and use observability to identify and optimize performance bottlenecks.
- Contribute to technology strategy at the portfolio or business-unit level and lead cross-functional engineering initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred 9+ years coding with more than two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, and Scala.
- Preferred experience with open source frameworks, front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, synchronous and asynchronous APIs, databases, cloud technologies, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing frameworks, and Git-based version control.
- Experience troubleshooting cloud environments, mentoring senior engineers, leading architecture reviews, enforcing coding standards, implementing observability and reliability practices, and influencing technology strategy.
- Experience with modern AI-based coding tools, interactive AI tooling beyond basic code completion, and large-scale technical initiatives.
