Responsibilities
- Build complex but intuitive backend products for managing R&D.
- Develop systems for modeling paths to market and evaluating time, cost, and technical risk.
- Create software that represents organizational dependencies and communicates progress across teams.
- Support scientific operations through tools for managing studies, tracking progress, and coordinating teams.
- Leverage LLMs to generate and evaluate scenarios, infer scientific progress and risks, and surface portfolio insights.
- Shape technical architecture and product direction while building foundational systems for scale and reliability.
Requirements
- 6–8 years of backend development experience with production systems at scale.
- Deep expertise in TypeScript, NestJS, and PostgreSQL.
- Track record of building complex, scalable, reliable cloud-based software.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and containerization.
- Strong experience in data modeling and API design.
- Ability to work effectively in small, fast-moving engineering teams.
- Preferred: AI/ML integration with OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar LLM providers.
- Preferred: Prompt engineering and RAG implementation experience.
- Preferred: Full-stack capabilities with React and TypeScript.
- Preferred: Track record of mentoring other engineers.
