Base Salary
$108k - $137k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, debug, and test high-performance platform software and device drivers for Cisco Nexus 9000 switches and routers.
- Implement software features involving network security, Access Control Lists, Quality of Service, and Control Plane Policing.
- Develop and execute system-level test automation using Python and CI/CD pipelines to validate hardware-software interactions.
- Apply low-level programming and operating-system knowledge to diagnose and resolve platform and operating-system challenges.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on functional specifications and software feature development.
Requirements
- One qualifying pathway is required: a bachelor's degree with zero years of work experience; an associate degree, apprenticeship, boot camp, or certification with one year of work experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent with two years of work experience, in a relevant technical field.
- Proficiency in C or C++ and experience with embedded Linux and operating-system fundamentals.
- Familiarity with networking principles, routing protocols, TCP/IP, the OSI model, and networking architectures.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools and scripting languages such as Python or Bash, plus knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Understanding of DevSecOps practices in software development workflows.
- Preferred: conceptual or hands-on AI/ML experience, cybersecurity and secure-coding knowledge, exposure to device drivers and hardware-software integration, and familiarity with ACLs, QoS, or CoPP.
Benefits
- Starting salary range is $107,800.00 to $136,800.00, excluding incentive compensation, equity, and benefits.
