Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture for complex enterprise AI solutions, including multi-agent systems spanning applications, services, and deployment environments.
  • Define approaches for grounded context, agent harnesses, orchestration, delegation, state management, failure recovery, and human oversight.
  • Build proofs of concept and reference implementations to investigate difficult problems and establish technical direction.
  • Architect shared platform primitives for evaluation, versioning, deployment, observability, governance, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify common product needs and define reusable services and interfaces while preserving application flexibility.
  • Evaluate models, frameworks, and emerging patterns and guide build-or-adopt decisions across quality, latency, cost, security, and operational complexity.
  • Align architects and product leaders through design documents, diagrams, demonstrations, and technical debate.
  • Mentor technical talent and guide adoption of shared architecture and capabilities across business units.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of software engineering and architecture experience, including leadership of complex application initiatives.
  • Recent hands-on experience architecting and delivering AI applications using Java and Python ecosystems.
  • Hands-on depth with relevant agent frameworks, including LangChain/LangGraph and Google ADK, plus sound judgment among alternatives.
  • Experience with agent patterns including context assembly, memory, harness design, multi-agent coordination, tool integration, MCP, and A2A.
  • Understanding of model capabilities, limitations, economics, model selection, and routing strategies.
  • Experience using evaluations and production evidence to diagnose agent failures and guide changes.
  • Architectural understanding of agent and tool permissions, untrusted inputs, data boundaries, distributed systems, security, multi-tenancy, and lifecycle design.
  • Experience with enterprise integration and cloud, private, or customer-managed deployment requirements is particularly valuable.
  • Evidence of establishing architecture or shared capabilities adopted by multiple teams and resolving production challenges.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
