Responsibilities
- Architect AI solutions and agent workflows that connect enterprise information, applications, and tools.
- Design retrieval, context, memory, tool-use, deterministic workflow, and multi-agent patterns with appropriate reliability and human oversight.
- Develop prototypes and reference implementations to validate architectures and guide production delivery.
- Design AI lifecycle capabilities for evaluation, versioning, deployment, observability, and continuous improvement.
- Create reusable platform services, APIs, and primitives for application teams.
- Evaluate models and frameworks against capability, reliability, latency, cost, and deployment requirements.
- Diagnose production failures, validate changes, and address permissions, untrusted inputs, and enterprise data boundaries.
- Communicate designs through documentation, diagrams, and demonstrations while leading design discussions and mentoring developers.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering or application architecture, including taking an AI capability from design through deployment and improvement.
- Hands-on experience building prototypes and working applications in both Java and Python ecosystems, including APIs, services, and integrations.
- Hands-on depth with an agent development framework and familiarity with LangChain/LangGraph, Google ADK, and similar approaches.
- Understanding of context engineering, harnesses, multi-agent orchestration and choreography, and MCP and A2A tool integration.
- Current knowledge of commercial and open model capabilities, limitations, and economics, with experience measuring quality, latency, and cost.
- Experience evaluating agent outcomes, diagnosing production failures, and validating changes.
- Strong application and cloud architecture skills, including distributed services, security, multi-tenancy, and production-scale operations.
- Experience integrating AI with enterprise permissions, data, and business processes is particularly valuable.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
