Base Salary
$38 - $58/yr
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with firmware engineers to design, develop, and maintain embedded software for gateway and sensor products.
- Bring up hardware platforms by configuring I/O, debugging SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, and ADC interfaces, testing connectivity, validating designs, and debugging system initialization.
- Implement peripheral drivers, secure bootloaders, device firmware updates, and power and connectivity management layers.
- Design protocols and hardware-management systems that optimize energy consumption for battery-powered sensors and gateways.
- Work cross-functionally with product, full-stack, and quality teams to deliver reliable embedded software.
- Participate in the product development lifecycle from concept through deployment while receiving mentorship from experienced firmware engineers.
Requirements
- Be enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Have solid C programming skills and familiarity with embedded programming concepts.
- Have prior experience with MCU development environments and tools including Segger J-Link and GCC.
- Have experience with bare-metal and/or RTOS-based systems such as Zephyr and FreeRTOS.
- Have experience with one or more of BLE, GPS, LTE, and CAN.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical debugging skills.
- Prior embedded-systems or firmware projects, coursework, or personal projects are advantageous.
