Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain embedded firmware for real-time and embedded systems.
- Implement software features, enhancements, and defect fixes according to product requirements.
- Design, develop, test, and verify firmware solutions.
- Port software to new hardware platforms and components.
- Develop and maintain communication protocols and device interfaces.
- Debug and resolve issues found during development, testing, manufacturing, and field deployments.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for firmware design and implementation.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and troubleshooting activities.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, quality assurance, and manufacturing teams to deliver products.
- Support secure communication and firmware update mechanisms.
- Follow established software development processes, coding standards, and quality procedures.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional experience in embedded software or firmware development.
- Proficiency in C programming for embedded systems.
- Familiarity with microcontrollers, embedded systems, and debugging tools.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle and version control systems such as Git.
- Basic knowledge of communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, USB, Ethernet, and TCP/IP, or similar technologies.
- Experience with IDEs and development environments such as Visual Studio, VS Code, Eclipse, or similar.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative engineering team.
- Preferred experience with RTOS-based systems or Embedded Linux.
- Preferred familiarity with Python or Bash scripting.
- Preferred knowledge of secure software development principles, networking concepts, and communication protocols.
- Preferred experience with source control, continuous integration, and automated testing tools.
- Preferred exposure to access control, IoT, industrial, or security-related products.
- Preferred familiarity with JTAG, SWD, oscilloscopes, or logic analyzers.
