Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze engineering and business data to identify opportunities for AI/ML solutions.
- Develop core use-case functionality and gradually work independently under engineering guidance.
- Design and implement procedures and workflows for AI/ML projects.
- Identify bottlenecks and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy solutions.
- Support documentation, reporting, and other project deliverables.
- Lead small AI/ML projects under the supervision of the enterprise AI/ML engineering team.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled as a junior or senior undergraduate or graduate student studying Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience using Python, PyTorch, AI/ML frameworks, and AI algorithms.
- At least two years of Python programming experience.
- Proficiency with VSCode or another programming IDE and willingness to learn code-assistance tools.
- Ability to learn company-specific software including Agentic AI, LangChain, LangGraph, Genie, Databricks, and Power BI.
- Must be available to work full-time from May/June through August/September 2027 and temporarily relocate to Irvine, California.
- Self-starter with strong work ethic, ownership, collaboration, time management, communication, organization, and documentation skills.
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in school; candidates who have already graduated are not eligible.
Benefits
- Full-time approximately three-month summer internship from May/June through August/September 2027.
- Temporary relocation to Irvine, California is required.
- Hands-on experience with production AI/ML engineering and modern AI/ML tooling.
- Engineering interns are offered a stated pay range of USD $26.00-$47.50 per hour, depending on education, duties, requirements, and work location.
