Responsibilities

  • Apply machine learning techniques including deep learning, bandits, transformers, LLMs, causal inference, and optimization to search and recommendations.
  • Run online A/B tests and analyze results against critical business KPIs.
  • Collaborate with US engineering and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Improve and scale the machine learning ecosystem, data pipelines, and streaming architecture.
  • Provide technical leadership for the search ranking, monetization, and machine learning roadmap.
  • Recruit, interview, train, and mentor new engineers.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience applying machine learning to large-scale problems in recommendation, search, advertising, or related domains, or a PhD with 6 years of experience.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals and the ability to translate ideas into code.
  • Understanding of classification, deep neural networks, sequence-based models, modern NLP, and multimodal representation learning.
  • Experience with big-data systems such as Spark, S3, and Airflow.
  • Programming experience in Java, Scala, or Python.
  • Understanding of system architecture, big-data technologies, streaming architecture, and data pipelines.
  • Demonstrated fluency with AI and agentic engineering tools, including the ability to verify agent output and ship work using those tools.
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field required; PhD in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
