Staff Software Engineer, QE
AlphaSenseResponsibilities
- Lead development of reliable, maintainable, and fast test automation frameworks across UI, API, and GraphQL layers.
- Design and integrate AI evaluation frameworks for LLM-powered features.
- Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate test creation, debugging, and code generation.
- Lead performance testing and monitoring implementation.
- Develop reporting and analytics tools for test coverage, flaky tests, and quality metrics.
- Optimize test execution pipelines for faster CI/CD feedback and drive adoption of modern testing approaches.
- Partner with development teams on shift-left testing and organization-wide quality ownership.
- Lead root-cause analysis for critical issues and drive systematic prevention improvements.
- Participate in code reviews to address testability and quality early.
- Mentor QE engineers on automation practices, framework usage, and AI tooling.
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on software quality engineering experience, including at least 2 years operating at a Staff or Lead level.
- Deep proficiency testing TypeScript/JavaScript and modern frontend ecosystems such as React and Webpack.
- Expert experience with Playwright or comparable browser automation frameworks including Cypress or Selenium WebDriver.
- Strong experience with unit and component testing frameworks such as Vitest, Jest, or React Testing Library.
- Experience designing and building test automation frameworks at scale.
- Experience integrating and optimizing test suites in CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Buildkite, or GitLab.
- Experience testing GraphQL APIs, including integration tests, schema mocking, and query or mutation contract validation.
- Familiarity with performance and load testing tools such as k6, Lighthouse, or Artillery.
- Experience with visual regression testing using tools such as Percy, Chromatic, or Playwright visual comparisons.
- Hands-on experience with Allure or similar test reporting and analytics platforms.
- Understanding of AI/ML-powered products, non-deterministic outputs, data quality, and model evaluation challenges.
- Experience in SaaS, fintech, or market intelligence domains is desired.
- Experience improving developer experience through test tooling plugins, custom ESLint rules, or documentation-as-code practices.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS or GCP cloud infrastructure.
- Familiarity with AI/LLM evaluation frameworks and AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude.
- Experience building or configuring MCP servers.
