Base Salary
$210k - $250k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead technical strategy for AI and LLM systems across product surfaces.
- Architect reliable production retrieval, orchestration, agentic, and evaluation systems.
- Set standards for AI safety, evaluation, observability, and responsible healthcare deployment.
- Partner with clinical, product, and executive leadership on the AI roadmap.
- Mentor engineers and raise organization-wide AI engineering literacy.
- Evaluate new AI models, techniques, and tools and guide their adoption.
- Continue writing production Python and designing AI systems for scale, latency, and cost.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience with deep recent experience leading production AI/LLM systems.
- Hands-on production Python coding experience.
- Strong system-design experience with AI systems, retrieval, agents, evaluation, latency, and cost.
- Demonstrated authority and technical judgment in AI engineering.
- Experience mentoring and developing engineers into strong AI builders.
- Strong communication skills with product, clinical, and executive stakeholders, including thoughtful risk and safety tradeoffs.
- Healthcare, clinical NLP, or regulated AI deployment experience is preferred.
- Production experience shipping agentic or large-scale RAG systems is preferred.

- Hybrid work in the San Francisco or Palo Alto office two days per week on Tuesday and Thursday.
- Estimated base salary of $210,000-$250,000 per year, with benefits and company equity eligibility.
