Base Salary
$130k - $221k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build distributed Data as a Service systems that ingest, process, and serve real-time and batch data.
- Develop and maintain APIs, data services, and tooling for secure and intuitive internal data access.
- Evolve data contracts and models with engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders.
- Implement CI/CD practices, automated data-quality testing, service-reliability testing, and schema-evolution processes.
- Build discoverable, documented data products that support self-service analytics and operational decision-making.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor teammates, and improve how data is produced, shared, and consumed.
- Modernize legacy systems and establish engineering practices for scalable, reliable data services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or 3+ years of hands-on experience in a technically demanding role.
- Proficiency in at least two major programming languages, such as Python, Go, Scala, C++, or Java.
- Strong understanding of software design and architecture.
- Experience building data pipelines and working with distributed systems using technologies such as Apache Spark, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Snowflake, and Airflow.
- Experience or familiarity with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Apache Airflow, Snowflake, and Terraform is a bonus.
- Experience on Data Platform or Infrastructure Engineering teams and familiarity with DataOps and deployment automation are preferred.
- Ability to collaborate through code reviews, system design discussions, sprint planning, and KPI evaluations.
