Responsibilities
- Serve as principal architect for large and complex hardware, software, database, networking, and telecommunications solutions.
- Determine laboratory-wide requirements and incorporate them into commercial or internally developed solutions.
- Lead complex projects involving customer requirements, cross-discipline solution sets, technical research, documentation, implementation, and training.
- Provide technical leadership and architectural direction for complex systems while aligning solutions with long-term business objectives.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, resource utilization, benefits realization, documentation, and implementation activities.
- Research industry practices and regulatory changes affecting data management, security, networking, telecommunications, hardware, software development, and systems programming.
- Maintain safety and security compliance and make safety and security integral to all work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 12 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Expert knowledge of current and future network, data management, security, hardware, software development, systems programming, interoperability, complex-solution architecture, and enterprise web application delivery.
- Expert knowledge of SQL Server and Oracle RDBMS implementation, administration, maintenance, and end-user support.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle WebLogic for web applications and Oracle Primavera Portfolio Management.
- Expert-level knowledge of Oracle Project Integration Framework.
- Experience maintaining environments supporting integration of project controls, including estimating, schedules, and costs.
- Excellent written and oral communication, organizational, project management, and team-building skills.
- Ability to successfully pass a federal background investigation and obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Ability to work in a diverse environment and fulfill and promote L&A core values.
