Responsibilities
- Develop and implement perception algorithms for object detection, tracking, classification, and segmentation using camera, lidar, and radar data.
- Design sensor fusion algorithms that combine multiple sensor inputs into robust perception systems.
- Optimize perception algorithms for real-time execution on embedded hardware.
- Integrate perception systems into larger autonomous vehicle systems.
- Productionize and deploy perception solutions across autonomous vehicle fleets.
- Analyze large datasets from varied sources and apply current machine learning and computer vision research to real-world problems.
- Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.
- Connect technology solutions to business impact.
Requirements
- Master’s or Ph.D. in machine learning, computer science, robotics, applied mathematics, statistics, physics, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- At least three years of experience designing, training, and analyzing neural networks for perception applications such as object detection, segmentation, classification, sensor fusion, or tracking.
- In-depth understanding of machine learning and deep learning algorithms.
- Experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Fluency in Python, including scientific computing libraries and Python bindings development.
- Advanced knowledge of software engineering principles, source control, build processes, code reviews, and testing methods.
- Experience mentoring and leading others.
- Strong C++ and/or CUDA programming skills are preferred.
- Experience developing and deploying perception systems for autonomous vehicles or robotics is preferred.
- Experience with embedded systems, real-time optimization, launching machine learning products, relevant research publications, or deploying models in real-world environments is preferred.
