Base Salary

$200k - $250k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Architect, deploy, operate, and evolve production AWS infrastructure for high-availability financial services workloads.
  • Own Terraform infrastructure-as-code standards, reusable modules, state management practices, and code review processes.
  • Lead the Kubernetes/EKS platform strategy, including cluster upgrades, node architecture, Helm governance, GitOps, service mesh evolution, and autoscaling.
  • Improve CI/CD platforms and enable safe, fast, self-service deployments for application engineering teams.
  • Design disaster recovery, cross-region failover, backup automation, high-availability architecture, and DR simulation exercises.
  • Define platform observability using Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, and OpenSearch, including SLO/SLI, alerting, and tracing standards.
  • Serve as a senior on-call escalation point, lead critical incident root-cause analysis, and drive systemic remediation.
  • Own capacity planning, resource saturation reviews, FinOps, cloud cost optimization, and vendor spend governance.
  • Define AWS security, IAM, encryption, secrets management, networking, load balancing, CDN, DNS, compliance, and vulnerability remediation standards.
  • Architect AI/ML infrastructure and govern AI-powered developer tools, including GPU compute, SageMaker, Bedrock, vector databases, and AIOps automation.
  • Build internal platforms and golden paths that improve developer productivity and reduce operational toil.
  • Lead cross-functional infrastructure initiatives, architecture reviews, technical strategy, documentation, hiring, mentoring, and engineering-wide planning.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of hands-on cloud infrastructure engineering experience with deep production AWS expertise.
  • End-to-end ownership of infrastructure initiatives from architecture and design through rollout and operations.
  • Expert Terraform proficiency, including module design, state management, and IaC standards.
  • Extensive Kubernetes production experience at scale, preferably with EKS, including cluster lifecycle management, multi-tenancy, Helm, and GitOps.
  • Strong Linux systems engineering and advanced scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go.
  • Deep experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, and Jenkins.
  • Advanced cloud networking and security knowledge, including VPC, Transit Gateway, DNS, load balancing, IAM, KMS, WAF, GuardDuty, and Secrets Manager.
  • Experience operating observability platforms such as Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana, CloudWatch, and OpenSearch/ELK at organizational scale.
  • Strong database infrastructure and data-layer architecture experience with Aurora PostgreSQL, RDS, ElastiCache/Redis, OpenSearch, or DynamoDB.
  • Experience designing disaster recovery, conducting DR simulations, and building highly available mission-critical systems.
  • Strong technical communication, architecture documentation, leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Preferred qualifications include 7+ years of infrastructure or platform engineering experience and 3+ years at a senior or staff level.
  • Preferred qualifications include financial services or regulated-industry experience, relevant AWS certifications, Amazon MSK/Kafka, API gateways, AI/ML infrastructure, policy as code, FinOps, technical writing, or open-source contributions.
