Responsibilities
- Participate in establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs.
- Develop Java backend applications and contribute to application systems analysis and programming activities.
- Use scripting tools and analyze and interpret code to identify necessary system enhancements.
- Consult with users, clients, and technology groups and recommend programming solutions.
- Install and support customer-facing systems.
- Analyze applications for vulnerabilities and security issues and conduct testing and debugging.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve problems by selecting and implementing solutions.
- Advise or coach new and lower-level analysts.
- Operate with limited direct supervision and advise senior stakeholders and team members.
- Assess and manage risk while complying with applicable laws, policies, and control requirements.
Requirements
- 4–8 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry.
- Experience with Java backend development.
- Experience as a Java microservices developer.
- Intermediate-level experience in an applications development role.
- Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes.
