Responsibilities
- Build and maintain highly available, scalable database and search platforms using PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch.
- Design and implement data integration and migration pipelines using APIs, files, and other databases as data sources.
- Improve platform availability and performance through SRE practices.
- Conduct incident management, troubleshooting, resolution, and post-mortems for database and search platforms.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship as a database and search platform engineering subject matter expert.
- Collaborate with project, engineering, and operations teams to align platform usability with organisational goals.
Requirements
- Background in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience with database systems, including relational databases such as PostgreSQL and Oracle and/or NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Elasticsearch.
- Proficiency in Bash, Go, Java, and Python.
- Experience with cloud-native technologies for container orchestration, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, and observability.
- Experience with data modelling, schema design, performance tuning, and data migration.
- Experience managing physical and virtual infrastructure is desirable.
- Experience managing cloud database and search services using AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, or Azure Database Services is desirable.
