Responsibilities
- Develop custom software components and integrate open-source code to solve complex federal customer problems.
- Design and implement core software architecture and capabilities from prototype through operational applications.
- Define, build, and manage cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Deploy and manage operating systems, containers, Kubernetes platforms, and related automation tools.
- Optimize and increase the robustness of existing codebases and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Work autonomously while pursuing broader strategic goals established by team architects.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a position-appropriate U.S. government security clearance are required; current Secret or TS-level clearance may be considered.
- Requires 5+ years of Platform Engineering or Software Development experience with a bachelor's degree, 3 years of relevant experience with a master's degree, or a high school diploma/equivalent plus 9 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with Python or Go, Linux systems, shell scripting, OS deployment, orchestration, Kubernetes, and container build tooling is required.
- Experience with Kubernetes automation tools such as Helm, Kustomize, or Flux CD is required or expected.
- Preferred qualifications include AWS infrastructure deployment, OS and container hardening, CI/CD automation, GitLab-CI, Travis-CI, Jenkins, JIRA, Confluence, GitHub, GitLab, Big Data platforms, and DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II certifications.
- Must be willing to travel to San Antonio, Texas, approximately 3–4 days every three months.
- Strong problem-solving, oral communication, and written communication skills are required.
