Responsibilities
- Operate and evolve managed platform services based on Kubernetes operators.
- Improve the availability, resilience, observability, and reliability of PostgreSQL and Kafka services.
- Design and integrate new automated services into the platform catalog.
- Industrialize deployments and configuration using GitOps and Infrastructure as Code.
- Develop internal automation tools and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Extend Backstage functionality to simplify operations and access to services.
- Automate diagnostics and remediation to increase Support team autonomy.
- Create operational documentation and transfer knowledge to other teams.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, and infrastructure teams on platform evolution.
- Explore generative and agentic AI opportunities for technical operations.
Requirements
- Higher education in computer science, software engineering, systems, or equivalent professional experience.
- Confirmed to senior-level experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering.
- Significant experience industrializing and operating application services in production.
- Required experience configuring and operating Kubernetes operators.
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and Helm.
- Solid experience with GitLab CI/CD, GitOps, and automation.
- Practical experience with Terraform, Linux, Python, and Bash.
- Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenSearch for observability.
- Ability to design self-service services and integrate REST APIs.
- Experience diagnosing and improving reliability of production systems.
- Experience with CloudNativePG and Strimzi in production is a major advantage.
- Understanding of internal developer platforms, developer experience, and Support team needs.
- Ability to industrialize services using a product-oriented approach.
