Responsibilities

  • Own the technical direction and architecture of custom software and simulation solutions.
  • Develop, enhance, test, and maintain Discrete Event Simulation models using Siemens Tecnomatix Plant Simulation and SimTalk.
  • Translate manufacturing and business requirements into simulation models, process logic, objects, parameters, and scenarios.
  • Build models for manufacturing plants, production lines, assembly operations, warehouses, intralogistics, and material-flow systems.
  • Model AGVs, AMRs, conveyors, forklifts, tugger trains, ASRS, warehouse automation, and material-handling systems.
  • Develop reusable custom objects, class libraries, templates, frameworks, accelerators, and parameterized models.
  • Perform capacity, throughput, bottleneck, line-balancing, WIP, cycle-time, resource-utilization, OEE, sensitivity, and optimization analyses.
  • Verify and validate models using historical data, process information, stakeholder feedback, and acceptance criteria.
  • Integrate simulation models with MES, WMS, ERP, IoT, Digital Twin, databases, APIs, and manufacturing data sources.
  • Troubleshoot model logic, performance, data, integration, and execution issues, and perform code and model reviews.
  • Maintain technical documentation, specifications, test cases, validation results, and user guides.
  • Conduct unit, functional, regression, and performance testing of models and components.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, data engineers, software developers, business users, and client stakeholders.
  • Support proofs of concept, feasibility studies, technical demonstrations, workshops, deployments, and client engagements.
  • Mentor junior simulation developers and contribute to coding standards, best practices, and development frameworks.

Requirements

  • At least 7.5 years of experience is required; the role summary specifies 9+ years of overall experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical, manufacturing, mechatronics, automation, production engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Siemens Tecnomatix Plant Simulation, SimTalk, Discrete Event Simulation, and manufacturing simulation.
  • Experience with production, assembly, material handling, logistics, warehousing, intralogistics, and digital manufacturing models.
  • Experience with Plant Simulation 3D modeling, object configuration, material flow, resources, buffers, conveyors, transporters, workers, and control logic.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, capacity, throughput, bottlenecks, WIP, cycle time, takt time, downtime, changeovers, and resource utilization.
  • Experience with simulation experiments, statistical analysis, distribution fitting, warm-up analysis, confidence intervals, sensitivity analysis, and optimization.
  • Preferred programming or data-processing experience with Python, Java, C#, SQL, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, SciPy, and visualization libraries is advantageous.
  • Experience integrating simulation models with MES, WMS, ERP systems, databases, APIs, IoT platforms, and manufacturing data sources.
  • Preferred knowledge of Digital Twin, Industry 4.0, Smart Manufacturing, OPC-UA, MQTT, and real-time data integration.
  • Exposure to Siemens Opcenter, SAP ME/EWM, Teamcenter, Manhattan, Blue Yonder, or similar platforms is advantageous.
  • Experience with AnyLogic, FlexSim, Simio, Arena, WITNESS, or DELMIA is a plus.
  • Understanding of software development practices, debugging, testing, version control, Git, Jira/Azure DevOps, and Agile methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, documentation, collaboration, and client-facing skills.
  • Experience mentoring developers and working independently with global or distributed teams is expected.
  • Preferred certifications or exposure include Siemens Plant Simulation, Lean Six Sigma, Industrial Engineering, Digital Manufacturing, Industry 4.0, or related simulation certifications.
  • Domain experience in automotive, EV/battery manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, intralogistics, material handling, or digital manufacturing is valued.
