Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable systems processing over 50 billion daily events across petabyte-scale clusters.
- Develop causal measurement, scientific experimentation, and machine learning approaches to measure advertising effectiveness.
- Architect and evolve event-driven architectures using AWS big data and machine learning technologies.
- Combine deterministic and modeled measurement approaches to produce fast, precise, actionable advertiser estimates.
- Drive technical strategy and lead architecture decisions for causal measurement across Amazon advertising products.
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers to turn complex measurement problems into production-grade solutions.
- Establish engineering standards for operational excellence, reliability, and quality at petabyte scale.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 5 years of programming experience with one or more software programming languages.
- At least 5 years of leading design or architecture for scalable, reliable new and existing systems.
- Experience mentoring, serving as a technical lead, or leading an engineering team.
- Preferred: at least 5 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
