Base Salary
$136k - $184k/yr
Responsibilities
- Participate in architecture, provisioning, and planning of the IBM hardware ecosystem.
- Install, configure, and maintain physical hosts for production and non-production applications.
- Provision PowerVM hosts as per requirements.
- Configure and certify AIX images for deployment according to security controls.
- Coordinate with technical staff to deploy systems and software.
- Perform operational support functions, including problem isolation and resolution.
- Document processes, procedures, configurations, and deployment plans.
- Provide technical leadership in the IBM/AIX realm.
- Regularly report progress to management.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation with team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience deploying and operating mission-critical systems.
- Excellent understanding of IBM POWER systems.
- Strong automation experience and understanding of what to automate.
- Solid troubleshooting skills and curiosity to drive to answers.
- Fluency in the AIX and Linux operating systems.
- Strong understanding of and production experience with PowerVC.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with networking protocols and systems.
