Responsibilities
- Design and ship the Kubernetes control plane, including scheduling, operators, provisioning, and node lifecycle.
- Own the reliability of the Kubernetes control plane and respond to critical production issues.
- Automate cluster provisioning so bare metal can become an on-demand customer cluster within minutes.
- Partner with Product Managers on priorities, initiative scope, and technical and business tradeoffs.
- Raise engineering standards through code review and knowledge sharing across the Cloud Platform organization.
Requirements
- Production experience shipping systems in Go.
- Hands-on experience running Kubernetes, ideally including building operators, schedulers, or controllers.
- Direct Linux experience rather than relying only on managed services.
- Experience running GPU workloads on Kubernetes or the ability to quickly own that domain.
- Extensive experience building backend or infrastructure systems.
- Experience partnering with product, design, and business teams to ship software used by real users.
- A collaborative, low-ego, team-first working style.
