Mobile Software Developer
BitdefenderResponsibilities
- Design, develop, and evolve Bitdefender’s Android security SDKs and reusable components.
- Own features end to end, from public API design through implementation and testing.
- Maintain stable APIs, sensible versioning, and backward compatibility for downstream application consumers.
- Write and maintain unit, integration, and instrumented tests for code quality and coverage.
- Use AI-assisted tools for code generation, test scaffolding, and review acceleration.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, UX designers, QA engineers, and developers in an Agile Scrum environment.
- Evaluate and adopt tools, frameworks, and technologies that improve development effectiveness.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of software development experience, preferably building for Android.
- Proficiency in Kotlin or strong programming fundamentals in another language such as Java, with the ability to learn Kotlin quickly.
- Fluency with Android Studio, Gradle, Android Profiler, Logcat, and Emulator.
- Experience designing or maintaining reusable components, libraries, or SDKs with clean public APIs and sound versioning.
- Knowledge of algorithms, data structures, design patterns, concurrency, and synchronization.
- Experience with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow or Java threading primitives.
- Ability to write unit, integration, and instrumented tests using tools such as JUnit, MockK, and Espresso.
- Familiarity with version control using Git and strong English communication skills.
- Preferred experience with AAR packaging, Maven repositories, Gradle build logic, convention plugins, and transitive dependency management.
- Preferred familiarity with VpnService, foreground services, background execution limits, WorkManager, Android Keystore, runtime permissions, app signing, and Android OS and OEM differences.
- Preferred experience using Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot, including prompt engineering or agent-based workflows.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and a portfolio of past projects are bonus qualifications.
