Responsibilities
- Develop and execute test cases, regression tests, automated tests, performance validation, and requirements verification across the software development lifecycle.
- Document testing activities and maintain software-release approval matrices.
- Prepare and manage test environments, including hardware setup, device flashing, software installation, software execution, integration testing, and operational flight testing.
- Collaborate with Software Engineers and Software Quality Assurance Engineers to improve software design, testing processes, and software quality.
- Track project schedules, identify likely delays or failures, and communicate risks to the Director of Engineering.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or an equivalent overseas qualification such as NZCE.
- Cross-platform testing experience with Windows and Linux.
- Proficiency setting up and managing test environments and operating systems.
- Ability to analyze and solve complex software engineering problems independently or collaboratively.
- Experience working in an Agile software development environment and contributing to software solutions and automation frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of fault-tracking systems.
- Preferred qualifications include ISTQB accreditation, experience with automated testing tools, Hardware-in-the-Loop and Software-in-the-Loop testing, and testing real-time embedded software systems.
