Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain complex automated automotive system-level test benches.
- Develop verification and validation plans for automotive software systems and features.
- Design and execute test cases and scripts covering system functionality, performance, and safety.
- Develop automation scripts and tools to improve testing efficiency and accuracy.
- Integrate hardware and software components into reliable, scalable test environments.
- Lead cross-functional debugging, root-cause analysis, fix confirmation, and regression prevention.
- Collaborate with software developers, controls engineers, and systems engineers on V&V strategies.
- Improve testing processes and tools and report verification activities and results to stakeholders.
- Review warranty data to identify trends and develop corrective actions.
- Travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- 6 or more years of experience in the automotive or relevant industry.
- Strong understanding of automotive systems, embedded software, and control systems.
- Experience with automotive testing instrumentation and tools.
- Proficiency with CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and FlexRay communication protocols.
- Working knowledge of DBC, LDF, ARXML, and internal IDLs and frameworks.
- Experience with automotive or aerospace HIL test benches, particularly dSPACE, Vector VT, or similar platforms.
- Experience writing and executing automated and manual tests.
- Deep expertise in EE architecture and integration of complex automotive systems across domains and ECUs.
- Experience collaborating across hardware, software, and systems engineering teams.
- Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and automotive testing methodologies.
- Experience with system-level debugging and root-cause analysis across software and hardware boundaries.
- Proficiency reading wiring and logical schematics, network diagrams, and harness drawings.
- Ability to define and drive system validation plans from concept to production.
- Preferred: master's or PhD in a relevant engineering field.
- Preferred: familiarity with safety-critical software development and ISO 26262.
- Preferred: proficiency in C/C++, Python, or MATLAB.
- Preferred: experience testing fully electric vehicles.
