Responsibilities
- Design and build the core backend systems, infrastructure, services, and internal platform capabilities underpinning Hera’s product and operations.
- Create fault-tolerant and idempotent systems that safely support sensitive workflows.
- Own critical data and infrastructure decisions involving medical, billing, operational, and user data.
- Develop robust consumer-grade APIs and contribute to scalable, maintainable service architecture.
- Raise engineering rigor through strong standards for unit testing, system performance, design quality, and technical excellence.
Requirements
- Strong backend and infrastructure fundamentals, including sound architecture, performance, and long-term maintainability.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, multiple database types, consumer-scale APIs, SDKs, and service-oriented architecture is highly relevant.
- AWS or similar cloud experience, SQL and non-SQL database experience, and comfort with modern backend development practices are highly relevant.
- Security or compliance experience involving permissions, role-based access controls, security-sensitive flows, or trust-critical infrastructure is a major plus.
- Ability to work autonomously, take ownership of major technical decisions, and maintain high standards for correctness, resilience, testing, and system design.
