Staff AI Engineer
Bluefish AIResponsibilities
- Lead end-to-end architecture for data platforms and pipelines covering scraping, extraction, transformation, storage, serving, and ML/LLM integration.
- Scale pipelines and systems safely while maintaining data quality, performance, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
- Translate business and product requirements into data products, RFCs, problem spaces, and sequenced deliverable projects.
- Establish engineering standards for testing, evaluations, observability, data contracts, and security across services.
- Lead architecture reviews, codify patterns, mentor senior and junior engineers, and increase organizational effectiveness through documentation, code reviews, and pairing.
- Prototype data and ML capabilities, evaluate feasibility and ROI, and make pragmatic productionization decisions.
- Define cross-functional ways of working among AI engineers, software engineers, DevOps, product managers, and designers.
Requirements
- 8+ years building and operating production data systems, including leading cross-cutting architectural changes and deploying LLMs in real-world scenarios at scale.
- Deep experience with Python, modern service architectures, system design, and data modeling.
- Extensive experience training and deploying machine learning models, particularly in NLP and LLM applications.
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience with SLOs, on-call and incident practices, observability, data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and demonstrated technical leadership abilities.
