Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend features and components using established procedures and techniques.
- Build frontend technologies and responsive user interfaces, including Angular-based screens.
- Design, code, test, document, integrate, deploy, maintain, and enhance software systems and platforms.
- Develop scalable distributed systems and APIs for inter-process communication.
- Provide application software development services and technical support in complex situations.
- Apply security and privacy principles and follow change controls during deployment.
- Collaborate with engineers, data engineers, business users, and project managers on shared team objectives.
- Recommend continuous improvements and consistently apply software development best practices.
- Use AI-assisted development tools for code generation, debugging, code review, and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of software development experience.
- Hands-on expertise with core Java, Spring Boot, REST API development, microservices, and frontend technologies including Angular, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Experience building complex, highly scalable software systems and distributed systems that have been delivered to customers.
- Experience with messaging, preferably IBM MQ.
- Experience with SQL, stored procedures, transaction management, and relational databases such as Oracle or SQL Server; NoSQL knowledge is preferred.
- Experience creating, testing, and managing APIs for inter-process communication.
- Experience with software design, development, testing, release management, SDLC, and CI/CD pipeline best practices.
- Experience with Angular and UI screen development is preferred.
- Experience with Linux scripting is preferred.
- Understanding of monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Splunk, and Moogsoft.
- Experience leveraging AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, or similar LLM-based assistants.
- Securities or financial services industry experience is a plus.
