Responsibilities
- Develop changes in Java, SQL, and PL/SQL for an ecommerce payments gateway.
- Analyze payment-processing business processes, production data, product code, and industry specifications to scope work.
- Serve as an authorized code reviewer and pair with engineers to support quality delivery and team development.
- Collaborate with test engineers on test coverage and contribute to automated integration and system testing.
- Design rollout and monitoring strategies for new features and provide periodic after-hours release deployment support.
- Participate in planning and design sessions with a cross-functional engineering team.
Requirements
- Experience delivering software in a quality-critical industry.
- Proven ability to solve complex business problems with software solutions.
- Strong Java knowledge and experience interacting with large databases.
- Experience with database systems, ideally SQL-based Oracle or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with large codebases and version control systems.
- Experience using Linux in development and production environments.
- Preferred: financial services experience, AWS cloud technology and design-pattern experience, and understanding of enterprise compute, storage, and networking technologies.
- Preferred: familiarity with Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe frameworks and methodologies.
