Responsibilities

  • Develop software changes in Java, SQL, and PL/SQL for an ecommerce payments gateway.
  • Take on complex development tasks and collaborate with the principal engineer and cross-functional team.
  • Conduct authorized code reviews and pair with engineers to improve code quality and team capability.
  • Analyze payment processes, production data, product code, and payments-industry specifications to scope work.
  • Collaborate with test engineers on test coverage and contribute to automated integration and system tests.
  • Design rollout and monitoring strategies and provide periodic support outside normal office hours for release deployments.

Requirements

  • Experience delivering software in a quality-critical industry.
  • Proven ability to solve complex business problems with software solutions.
  • Strong Java knowledge and expertise interacting with large databases.
  • Experience with SQL-based Oracle or similar database platforms.
  • Familiarity with large codebases and version control systems.
  • Experience using Linux in development and production environments.
  • Knowledge of financial services, agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe, AWS cloud technologies, and enterprise compute, storage, or networking is preferred.
