Base Salary
$185k - $490k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and ship APIs, SDKs, and services that developers use to extend ChatGPT and Codex.
- Improve plugin creation, testing, publishing, updating, and sharing workflows.
- Improve compatibility and consistency across ChatGPT and Codex, including interactive app experiences.
- Contribute to MCP and other open standards based on practical developer needs.
- Work with developers and partners to identify recurring problems and improve the platform, tooling, and documentation.
- Collaborate with Product, Research, Security, and Trust & Safety on permissions, compatibility, and safe, reliable execution.
Requirements
- Experience building software used by other developers, such as open-source projects, APIs, SDKs, developer platforms, or internal tools with real users.
- Ability to reason about API and abstraction tradeoffs and explain design decisions.
- Enjoyment of working directly with developers and understanding their needs.
- Ability to move between product questions and technical details and take ambiguous work through production.
- Comfort working across web interfaces and backend systems and learning unfamiliar parts of the stack.
- Interest in defining how developers build software for AI agents, including through standards such as MCP.
