Base Salary
$143k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement distributed storage solutions for data-intensive AI workloads
- Develop exabyte-scale S3-compatible object storage and integrate dedicated storage clusters into customer environments
- Use RDMA, GPU Direct Storage, and distributed filesystem protocols to optimize storage performance and efficiency
- Improve the reliability, durability, security, and observability of the storage stack
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve storage systems in production with operations teams
- Develop metrics and dashboards for storage performance and health
- Analyze telemetry and system data to improve throughput, latency, and resilience
- Collaborate with platform, product, and infrastructure teams to deliver storage capabilities across the stack
- Mentor engineers on best practices for distributed, high-performance systems
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 8–10+ years of experience in storage systems engineering or infrastructure
- Strong production experience with object storage or distributed filesystems
- Experience with storage protocols such as S3 or NFS and filesystems such as Ceph or DAOS
- Proficiency in a systems programming language such as Go, C, or Rust
- Proficiency using AI tools to augment software development
- Familiarity with storage observability tools and telemetry pipelines such as ClickHouse, Prometheus, and Grafana
- Experience with cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes, and scalable system architectures
- Expertise in data persistence on physical media, high-performance RDMA data transfer, or resilient distributed systems is valued
- Candidates must meet applicable U.S. export-control access or authorization requirements
