Base Salary
$178k - $313k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and implement security controls and frameworks for backend services and cloud infrastructure.
- Improve production security controls covering visibility, hardening, identity, authentication, networking, and deployment policies.
- Conduct security reviews of platforms, backend services, and business application integrations.
- Identify, triage, and drive remediation of vulnerabilities and misconfigurations across cloud environments and backend systems.
- Implement security into CI/CD pipelines and embed secure design practices early in the development lifecycle.
- Partner with Infrastructure, Developer Productivity, and Product Engineering teams.
- Guide responsible adoption of LLMs and AI tools across Snap’s engineering ecosystem.
- Mentor junior engineers and champion security, privacy, and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent years of experience.
- At least 6 years of post-bachelor’s industry experience, or a relevant master’s degree with 5+ years of post-graduate security experience, or a relevant PhD with 2+ years of post-graduate security experience.
- Solid development skills in Go, Python, and/or Java, with required experience in Java, C++, and/or Python.
- Deep knowledge of infrastructure domains such as Kubernetes, containers, service mesh, networking, or Linux internals.
- Hands-on experience deploying and securing services in multi-cloud environments, particularly AWS and Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with authentication and authorization protocols or frameworks such as OpenID Connect, OAuth, or Identity Federation.
- Familiarity with Cloud Security Posture Management platforms and native AWS/GCP security services.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
