Base Salary
$129k - $215k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement behavioral planning logic for vehicle actions including lane changes, merges, yields, and agent interactions.
- Develop motion-planning algorithms integrating geometry reasoning and speed reasoning into cohesive trajectories.
- Architect and improve systems that generate geometrically feasible paths and context-aware velocity profiles.
- Model driving scenarios and agent interactions for the behavioral planner.
- Design trajectory-ranking costs balancing ETA, vehicle comfort, and safety.
- Analyze, test, debug, and investigate root causes of system performance issues across varied scenarios.
- Collaborate with Prediction, Perception, and Control teams to connect environmental understanding with vehicle motion.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
- Experience in autonomous systems, robotics, or automotive software development.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python for complex, real-time algorithms.
- Understanding of robotics fundamentals including decision-making, motion planning, control theory, trajectory ranking, search, and optimization algorithms.
- Related experience in behavioral planning, motion planning, behavior and world-environment reasoning, or trajectory ranking and cost design.
- Preferred qualifications include a PhD or robotics planning-system internship experience, knowledge of vehicle dynamics and longitudinal/lateral control systems, and understanding of machine learning and reinforcement learning.
