Base Salary
$120k - $150k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own AWS edge security and routing infrastructure, including WAF rules, Shield Advanced policies, CloudFront distributions, TLS certificates, and F5 LTM virtual servers.
- Participate in the primary on-call rotation, triage WAF and production-edge incidents, act as incident commander, and produce postmortems and incident summaries.
- Support product teams and customers with blocked-request troubleshooting, traffic spikes, bot scraping, and edge design guidance.
- Build automation and deployment workflows for edge infrastructure using AWS CDK and pull-request-based processes.
- Improve scalability, performance, resilience, cost governance, guardrails, and operational processes for edge security systems.
- Create and maintain runbooks, WAF rule catalogues, Shield posture guidelines, and platform documentation.
- Use AI tooling for incident triage, cost analysis, knowledge retrieval, runbook creation, and other operational workflows.
- Collaborate with product development, Information Security, Cloud Infrastructure, and other SRE teams.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or cloud operations.
- Production-scale experience with AWS WAF, Shield Advanced, or CloudFront, including rule authoring, incident response, and blast-radius assessment.
- Experience managing TLS and certificate lifecycles, CSR generation, domain routing, and multi-domain remediation.
- Infrastructure-as-code experience with AWS CDK or CloudFormation.
- Fluency with Splunk queries for WAF log analysis, searches, and dashboards.
- Incident management experience, including incident command, stakeholder coordination, root-cause analysis, and postmortems.
- Experience with change management, phased production deployments, rollout communication, and rollback planning.
- Fluency in at least one scripting language such as Python, TypeScript, or Bash.
- Production on-call experience and familiarity with sustainable interrupt-volume management.
- Working knowledge of SRE fundamentals including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and toil accounting.
- Excellent communication skills and experience aligning multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with SDLC methodologies and pull-request-based deployment workflows.
- Practical experience with prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, and AI-assisted operational workflow automation.
- Preferred experience includes AWS WAF WCU modeling, AWS Shield Advanced across multiple accounts, bot mitigation, F5 LTM, Cloudflare, Fastly, Datadome, CloudFront at scale, API Gateway, ALBs, LLM agents, APM and monitoring tools, CI/CD tooling, disaster recovery, Docker, ECS, EKS, Kubernetes, and networking concepts.
