Responsibilities
- Define the architecture, standards, and tooling strategy for platform infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and operational automation.
- Lead in-house platform operations for the FedRAMP environment and determine which systems to retain, rebuild, or retire.
- Improve service reliability, availability, and MTTR through incident response leadership and post-incident reviews.
- Design and build internal automation for reliable and secure microservice operations and deployments.
- Partner with product engineering, security, and compliance teams on platform scaling and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or site reliability engineering, including hands-on operation of cloud production infrastructure at scale.
- Strong Linux system administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, Kubernetes, and Docker experience.
- Experience designing and maintaining Terraform infrastructure as code, including module design and state management at scale.
- Hands-on experience with Grafana or Prometheus, SLO definition, and alerting strategies.
- Familiarity with agentic development practices, GitOps practices, Ansible, and automated deployment pipeline management.
- Direct experience with FedRAMP-authorized cloud environments and continuous monitoring compliance obligations.
- Ability to lead infrastructure migrations, platform transitions, and vendor-to-in-house system handovers while developing clear execution plans and trade-offs.
- Strong communication, cross-functional collaboration, customer focus, accountability, and mentoring skills.
