Base Salary
$173k - $237k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and drive quality engineering strategy and test architecture for large-scale distributed systems.
- Design and build scalable test automation frameworks, infrastructure, and organization-wide quality tooling.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives with product, infrastructure, and platform engineering teams to resolve systemic quality gaps.
- Establish standards for unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, chaos, and fault-injection testing.
- Develop quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting systems for product health, test coverage, and release readiness.
- Improve CI/CD quality gates, staged rollout validation, and feature flagging strategies.
- Identify and resolve reliability, scalability, and performance issues through root cause analysis and improved test coverage.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance across quality and product engineering teams.
- Influence roadmaps and architecture by advocating for testability, observability, and quality.
- Drive adoption of quality engineering practices through documentation, tooling, and cross-team enablement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience in software development in test, quality engineering, or software engineering focused on test infrastructure and automation.
- Experience designing large-scale test automation frameworks and CI/CD quality pipelines for distributed systems.
- Experience defining quality strategy and driving testing methodology adoption across multiple engineering teams or product areas.
- Experience with performance testing, reliability engineering, or fault-injection testing for high-scale production systems.
- Experience communicating technical quality strategy and engineering decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Preferred experience with responsible and ethical AI practices, AI skill development, and emerging AI technologies.
- Preferred experience with observability platforms, production monitoring, telemetry-informed test coverage, static analysis, fuzzing, or model-based testing.
- Preferred experience building quality tooling across mobile, web, and backend systems.
- Preferred organizational-level influence through tooling, standards, or enablement programs.
Benefits
- Annual base salary of $173,000/year to $237,000/year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
