Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and maintaining embedded firmware in C for IoT gateway products.
- Work with microcontrollers, peripherals, and UART, SPI, I²C, and Ethernet communication interfaces.
- Support firmware debugging, testing, and validation.
- Research PLC fundamentals, architectures, programming models, and IEC 61131-3 standards.
- Investigate PLC-to-IoT gateway integration methods, including Modbus, OPC UA, and Industrial Ethernet protocols.
- Build proof-of-concept integrations between PLCs and embedded systems.
- Develop demo applications involving PLC data ingestion, IoT gateways, and cloud connectivity.
- Test interoperability with real or simulated PLC environments.
- Evaluate PLC vendors, tools, and ecosystem approaches and document findings for the firmware team.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Embedded Systems, or a related field.
- Programming foundation in C.
- Basic understanding of embedded-systems concepts, including microcontrollers, memory, interrupts, and peripherals.
- Academic exposure to industrial automation or control systems.
- Hands-on experience or coursework in PLC programming is preferred.
- Knowledge of Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Function Block Diagram, and industrial communication protocols is preferred.
