Base Salary
$236k - $339k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set technical direction for the AI Products frontend architecture, including component systems, state management, and rendering strategies.
- Build and drive the frontend architecture for the AI SRE product from concept through production.
- Design agentic AI interfaces for multi-step reasoning, tool-use results, and real-time streaming responses.
- Develop the Observe Slack integration and define the technical strategy for future platform integrations.
- Contribute to CLI tooling, evaluation pipelines, MCP integrations, and extension architecture.
- Mentor engineers through code reviews, architecture guidance, design documents, and pair programming.
- Collaborate with product and design to shape the roadmap and deliver thoughtful user experiences.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 6 years of frontend engineering experience shipping production products at scale.
- Expert-level TypeScript proficiency and experience structuring large TypeScript codebases.
- Deep experience building complex, interactive web applications and owning complete product surfaces.
- Production experience with agentic AI systems and tool-use patterns, including SDKs such as Vercel AI SDK, Anthropic Agent SDK, LangGraph, or equivalent.
- Strong server-side Node.js experience with Express, Hono, Fastify, or similar technologies.
- Experience implementing or consuming Model Context Protocol servers and designing extensible tool interfaces for LLM-powered systems.
- Demonstrated technical leadership in architecture decisions, RFCs or design documents, and cross-team technical direction.
- Product-focused approach centered on user outcomes.
- BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- Preferred experience includes production LLM evaluation pipelines, Bun, developer platforms or internal tools, open-source contributions, and familiarity with OpenTelemetry, logs, metrics, traces, APM, or Observe.
