Base Salary
$187k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build AI-powered products and tools that improve internal operations, internal-to-customer experiences, and customer experiences.
- Own products end to end, from problem identification through launch and ongoing operations.
- Architect and build production-scale LLM-powered applications, including agentic systems, RAG, and tool-using assistants.
- Design evaluation and monitoring systems for AI products that can be adopted by other teams.
- Define shared architecture, APIs, guardrails, security standards, and technical foundations for autonomous teams.
- Set technical direction, mentor senior engineers, and lead technical strategy for product areas.
- Identify high-leverage problems independently and build alignment with stakeholders and leadership.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with ownership of complex, cross-functional systems.
- Deep hands-on experience architecting production-scale LLM-powered applications, including agentic systems, RAG, or tool-using assistants.
- Experience with agent frameworks or orchestration systems and multi-step reasoning systems.
- Experience designing evaluation and monitoring systems for AI products.
- Strong systems design skills and the ability to define architecture and technical standards used by multiple teams.
- Fluency across frontend, backend, and infrastructure engineering.
- Experience influencing technical direction beyond one team through standards, mentoring, or product-area technical strategy.
- Preferred: experience building internal AI platform capabilities such as key management, spend caps, permissioning, and hosting for AI-developed applications.
- Preferred: experience leading SaaS rationalization or build-versus-buy efforts involving AI-first custom replacements.
- Preferred: experience redesigning critical business workflows around AI.
- Preferred: platform or infrastructure-adjacent experience combined with strong product instincts.
- Preferred: thought leadership on agent architectures, evaluations, or applied LLM engineering practices.
- Preferred: comfort operating with minimal process and setting technical direction in a greenfield environment.
