Responsibilities
- Lead application feature definition and collaborate with software, systems, human factors, clinical engineering, and other stakeholders.
- Define product vision, priorities, features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria in an Agile development environment.
- Decompose system requirements and architecture into software requirements, interface definitions, implementation strategies, traceability, and verification approaches.
- Manage technical and integration risks and support software/hardware integration, root cause analysis, and solution generation.
- Review software designs for alignment with system intent, requirements, interfaces, cybersecurity requirements, and quality objectives.
- Drive technical decisions through requirements analysis, architecture decomposition, risk assessment, stakeholder feedback, and evaluation of design alternatives.
- Ensure product development activities comply with quality and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship across multiple engineering disciplines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
- At least 8 years of software engineering design and development or systems engineering experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in C++ and object-oriented software development within complex systems.
- Experience defining software architecture, managing technical tradeoffs, and translating system-level requirements into software requirements, interfaces, and designs.
- Experience serving as a Product Owner or Product Manager in Agile development environments.
- Experience with Agile frameworks such as Scrum or SAFe.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, medical device experience, cardiac mapping or ablation experience, medical imaging experience, and experience with complex electromechanical systems.
- Preferred experience includes compliance with IEC 62304, ISO 14971, FDA Quality System Regulations, cybersecurity guidance for medical devices, and GDPR.
