Base Salary
$148k - $249k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and lead Waabi’s monitoring and observability architecture for cloud and on-prem environments.
- Develop workloads, benchmarks, stress tests, chaos tests, and regression tests for platform and hardware validation.
- Analyze and optimize end-to-end performance across hardware, firmware, Linux kernel, runtimes, and distributed services.
- Build automation and observability tooling for performance regression detection, telemetry, alerting, and anomaly detection.
- Support client teams with application observability requirements.
- Influence infrastructure architecture and tooling decisions and drive execution and quality.
- Write design documents, set milestones, mentor individual contributors, and communicate results to stakeholders and leadership.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering or systems/performance engineering experience with end-to-end ownership of complex projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in at least one of Python, Rust, or C/C++, with strong computer science fundamentals and system design skills.
- Hands-on knowledge of Linux internals, including CPU scheduling, memory, I/O, networking, and performance tooling.
- Experience with Kubernetes, microservices, distributed systems, production services, and pipelines.
- Proven ability to communicate clearly, write design documents, and lead cross-functional efforts.
- Preferred experience deploying and managing OpenTelemetry and Grafana OSS.
- Preferred experience with database, streaming, batch, ML platform, GPU/xPU, or Arm performance tuning.
- Preferred experience with Argo Workflows, PyTorch, Prometheus, and distributed tracing.
