Base Salary
$194k - $291k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel robotics and machine learning technologies for Nuro Driver.
- Develop production-ready behavior-planning software for safe, performant, and scalable deployment on real vehicle platforms.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with behavior, perception, mapping, and machine learning research engineers.
- Develop algorithms for path planning, motion planning, trajectory generation, behavior planning, and optimal control.
- Optimize model performance through efficient processing, visualization, and analysis of large datasets.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior behavior-team members.
Requirements
- PhD or Master’s degree in robotics, computer science, mechanical or aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
- Expertise in robotics areas such as path planning, motion planning, trajectory generation, behavior planning, or optimal control.
- Experience with machine learning techniques including deep learning, reinforcement learning, imitation learning, transformers, or diffusion models.
- Strong software development skills and proficiency in Python and C++.
- Ability to work collaboratively across engineering and research teams and bring algorithms from research into production.
- Preferred experience with safety-critical systems, distributed training, or inference optimization.
