Responsibilities
- Develop and support large-scale, mission-critical Java/J2EE enterprise applications.
- Design software architectures and implement cloud-based enterprise software across global data centers.
- Lead architecture reviews, technical roadmaps, engineering standards, and complex technical initiatives through production deployment.
- Build and integrate generative AI, LLM, RAG, AI-agent, orchestration, and intelligent automation solutions.
- Design highly available, horizontally scalable distributed systems, data platforms, asynchronous processing, event streaming, and messaging solutions.
- Drive cloud transformation, modernization, AI adoption, operational maturity, resiliency, security, performance, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor engineers through coaching, code reviews, technical design guidance, and knowledge sharing.
- Partner with product, architecture, security, infrastructure, operations, and cross-functional teams.
- Support customers in achieving their goals with the company’s software services.
- Ensure corporate policies, procedures, and security standards are followed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher and 10 years of progressive software engineering experience focused on Java/J2EE enterprise application development, or a high school diploma/GED and 14 years of such experience.
- Expert-level experience designing, developing, and supporting large-scale, mission-critical, cloud-native enterprise applications.
- Deep expertise in Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and event-driven systems.
- Experience architecting high-volume, highly available distributed systems in public cloud environments and across multi-cloud deployments.
- Hands-on experience with generative AI solutions, including LLMs, RAG, AI agents, orchestration frameworks, and AI-powered enterprise platforms.
- Advanced experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration, preferably Amazon EKS.
- Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, performance tuning, scalability, resiliency, and data architecture patterns.
- Expertise with PostgreSQL, Cassandra, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, and distributed data platforms.
- Experience with asynchronous processing, event streaming, messaging platforms, Kafka, DevOps, CI/CD, Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Ansible, and Terraform.
- Experience with secure coding, test automation, observability, monitoring, performance optimization, and reliability engineering.
- Ability to lead architecture discussions, define technical roadmaps, influence architecture decisions, and communicate with executive, business, product, and engineering audiences.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card and meet applicable government access requirements.
- Preferred experience includes healthcare interoperability, HL7, FHIR, X12, EMR/EHR integrations, HIPAA-compliant systems, MinIO, OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, Zero Trust, Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Agile, Scrum, and SAFe.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor senior engineers, lead cross-functional teams, and provide technical leadership for strategic initiatives.
