Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineers across Dow Jones products to use shared technology.
- Contribute to improving code development standards for shared applications and services.
- Learn about new technologies and present their business value, scalability, maintainability, and delivery tradeoffs.
- Analyze complex technology problems and present solutions.
- Review product requirements and identify goals to inform technical approaches.
- Prioritize and manage work while adhering to project timelines.
- Participate in a 10-week internship with full-time, in-office work from June 7 through August 13, 2027.
Requirements
- Completed at least two years toward a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Be enrolled in a four-year undergraduate degree program and graduate between December 2027 and July 2029 in the U.S.
- Have familiarity with JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks such as React, Node.js, and Next.js.
- Understand HTML5 and DOM manipulation.
- Have CSS knowledge including Grid, Flexbox, and Media Queries.
- Be familiar with version control systems such as Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication, a proactive attitude, and willingness to take on new challenges.
- Be able to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
- Exposure to Docker, AWS, or other cloud- or container-based application deployment is preferred.
- Not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future in the country where applying.
