Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end quality for an assigned product area, including test strategy, automation decisions, and release readiness.
- Design, build, and maintain automated end-to-end and UI tests using Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, or an equivalent framework.
- Conduct structured manual and exploratory testing to identify edge cases, usability issues, and failure modes.
- Test REST APIs and service integrations with automated suites and tools such as Postman.
- Use SQL joins across staging and production tables to validate data-processing and workflow outcomes.
- Create, manage, and reset test data for repeatable test execution.
- Integrate and maintain reliable test suites in CI/CD pipelines, addressing flaky tests and coverage gaps.
- Design and execute performance and load tests, analyze results, and identify bottlenecks.
- Write precise defect reports, test plans, risk assessments, and test documentation.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams on requirements, risk identification, and feature testability.
- Share testing practices, review test code, and mentor colleagues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent education and work experience.
- At least 5 years of QA experience with ownership of quality for a product area.
- End-to-end web application testing experience combining automation with structured manual and exploratory testing.
- Proficiency in at least one automation language such as TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or Java, with comfort working in a production codebase.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium WebDriver, or an equivalent browser automation framework and with API testing tools such as Postman.
- Strong SQL skills, including writing joins and building or resetting test data.
- Experience testing data-processing or workflow systems and validating records, states, and values.
- Experience integrating test suites into CI/CD and maintaining their reliability.
- Performance-testing experience with JMeter, Gatling, Locust, or a comparable tool, including designing load profiles.
- Clear and precise written communication for actionable defect reporting.
