Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain reliable, secure, and automated database environments on AWS.
- Provision, monitor, and operate AWS RDS instances, primarily PostgreSQL and secondarily Oracle and SQL Server.
- Develop and maintain Terraform modules and pipelines, Flyway migration pipelines, and database automation.
- Support database migrations, including migrations using AWS DMS.
- Apply security, governance, and compliance policies to database environments.
- Collaborate with development teams on SQL tuning, schema modeling, and troubleshooting.
- Develop automation using Terraform pipelines, Bash, and Python.
- Create technical documentation and runbooks and share knowledge with the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Analysis, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Advanced English communication skills for meetings, documentation, and collaboration with global teams.
- Solid AWS experience, specifically with RDS, with PostgreSQL experience required.
- Hands-on database administration experience including backup and restore, replication, troubleshooting, and tuning.
- Practical Terraform experience for database provisioning.
- Experience with schema versioning or migration tools such as Flyway.
- Experience with Bash, Python, scripting, automation, SQL, and query optimization.
- Availability to work in a hybrid model in Indaiatuba/SP.
- Prior AWS DMS migration experience, knowledge of SRE practices and observability tools, DB2 or mainframe knowledge, and AWS certifications are advantageous.
