Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain reliable, secure, and automated database environments on AWS.
- Provision, monitor, and operate AWS RDS instances, primarily PostgreSQL and secondarily Oracle and SQL Server.
- Develop and use reusable cloud and database standards, Terraform modules, and Flyway pipelines.
- Support database migrations, including migrations performed with AWS DMS.
- Apply security, governance, and compliance policies to database environments.
- Collaborate with development teams on SQL tuning, schema modeling, and troubleshooting.
- Develop and maintain automation using Terraform pipelines, Bash, and Python scripts.
- Create and update technical documentation and runbooks and share knowledge with the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Analysis, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Advanced English for meetings, technical documentation, and collaboration with global teams.
- Solid experience with AWS, specifically RDS, with PostgreSQL required.
- Hands-on database administration experience covering backup and restore, replication, troubleshooting, and tuning.
- Practical experience using Terraform for database provisioning.
- Experience with schema versioning and migration tools such as Flyway or similar.
- Experience with scripting and automation using Bash and Python.
- Strong SQL skills and query optimization experience.
- Availability to work in a hybrid model in Indaiatuba/SP.
- Preferred qualifications include AWS DMS migration experience, knowledge of SRE practices and observability tools such as Datadog and Prometheus, familiarity with DB2 on z/OS or mainframe environments, and AWS Database Specialty or Solutions Architect certification.
