Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Develop robust cloud-based solutions in collaboration with digital product managers.
- Provide technical leadership across Agile teams and establish standards for design, development, and operational excellence.
- Partner with architects to define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
- Identify opportunities for refactoring, technical-debt reduction, and system-performance improvement.
- Influence long-term technology strategy through evaluation of emerging tools and practices in a you-build-it, you-own-it environment.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering communities and professional development.
- Lead cross-functional engineering efforts and large-scale technical initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred: master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred: 7+ years coding with more than two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala.
- Preferred: experience with databases, cloud platforms, open source frameworks, front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, synchronous and asynchronous APIs, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing frameworks, and Git-based version-control systems.
- Preferred: experience troubleshooting cloud environments, using observability to optimize distributed-system performance, leveraging AI coding tools and interactive AI tooling, mentoring engineers, establishing coding standards, and leading cross-functional engineering initiatives.
