Base Salary
$168k - $245k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and improve SONiC software modules supporting pluggable optics and Co-Packaged Optics.
- Build platform adaptation layers interfacing with ASICs, optical engines, and BMCs.
- Implement and maintain drivers, APIs, and services for optics monitoring, configuration, and lifecycle management.
- Integrate CPO technologies into SONiC platforms, including telemetry, diagnostics, and control-plane interactions.
- Debug system-level issues across software and hardware boundaries and validate performance, reliability, and thermal/power characteristics.
- Design maintainable software components and contribute to unit testing, system testing, automation, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with hardware, QA, and system integration teams and contribute to the SONiC open-source community.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of related experience, master's degree plus 4 years, or PhD plus 1 year.
- At least 5 years of software development experience.
- At least 3 years of experience with Linux-based systems and system-level programming using C, C++, or Python.
- At least 3 years of experience with debugging tools and distributed or embedded systems environments.
- Preferred experience with L2/L3 networking protocols, switching, routing, SONiC or similar network operating systems, and QSFP, OSFP, or CPO technologies.
- Preferred experience with drivers, SDKs, platform abstraction layers, Docker, Kubernetes, telemetry, monitoring systems, data-plane/control-plane interactions, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
